  Alpha Flight
My thoughts on this series as a whole have not entirely been formed yet, at least not so far as I would feel comfortable making them public. But anyway, I highly doubt that you came here to read what it is that I may or may not have thought.

Take note that the following summaries are not mine, in an attempt to get some major holes filled, I have stolen The following issue summaries from here, they were originally written by Robert Diehl as a part of Chronology.Net. This information is being reproduced without permission of the authors. I intend to replace these with summaries of my own creation, but until then...

It's Not Easy Being Purple
Kara is a 13 year old girl who has turned purple. Her mother explains that her father was the Purple Man, who used his control of minds to force Melanie to marry him. He later freed her mind, she rejected him, and he ran off without ever having seen his daughter. Alpha Flight inducts Jeffries as their newest member, and he works on getting Roger out of Box (he has the bends from their Atlantis adventure and does not dare come out). Northstar resigns and returns to skiing. Kara runs away from home and watches him ski and accidentally makes a girl to jump off a cliff. Northstar saves her, revealing himself as a hero and getting accused of cheating on the ski slopes. He vows never to ski again. Kara takes control of his mind and forces him to be her boyfriend. He flies them to the South Pacific, they swim and are attacked by a crocodile, which Northstar quickly dispatches. He realizes he can stop her controlling him by staying under water. She promises to stop using her power but can not control herself, so she orders him to take her to Alpha Flight.

Friends... and Lovers
Lionel is unable to effect Snowbirds body, so Walter has to remain Wanda, and Aurora runs off, chased by Roger, but she rejects him, too. Rogers new legs are getting flaky, as is his mind. That night, Aurora is attacked by memories of three weird sisters, by her Jeanne-Marie personality, and by Roger. Judd grabs her out of his arms, and Walter holds him, while he raves. Turns out he, Jeffries, and Judd were all institutionalized with mental disorders before Mac brought them into Beta Flight. Roger fells Judd, Walter, and Heather, and Jeffries is unable to reason with him, so he phases into Box, forcing Roger out.

You Can't Tell the Forest from the Trees
A strange seed falls from space and is caught by a kid baseball player. It bursts open and covers him with roots, and he slinks off into the woods. Heather is called home by her parents, who have not spoken to her since she eloped with Mac. Ramsey was the coach of the baseball team, and many of the players have gone missing. Searching for them, Ramsey picks up another seed and is rooted, too. Heathers suit protects her, and she defends her parents house against an attack by the tree-creatures. She burns away the surrounding bark and frees the humans within. But some seed pods still remain.

Madness
The mind and legs of Roger are in advanced states of decay. The team fights about what to do with him, then decide to take him to Lionel. He turns out to be still insane, conducting experiments with the dead to create superior beings. He attacks his brother and Knapp, but Roger agrees to merge with him and create a superior villain, Omega, who can reshape his own body into any imaginable monster. Aurora stumbles across Lionels first 5 attempts, kept in large glass jars. Omega attacks, and Heather gives orders to counter, killing if necessary. Omega captures and begins to absorb each member of the team, while Madison notices something happening to Knapp.

Flesh of My Flesh!
Knapp splits into four beings, each at a different stage of evolution. Highbrow explains, while Apeman moves Madison close enough for him to phase into Box. Proto just gurgles. Madison and the Knapps attack Omega, who has captured most of Alpha Flight. Roger changes his mind about being a villain, and fights Omega from within, only to be lobotomized. Madison blasts him, and Kara takes control of his mind, forcing him to restore the body of Madison, who decides the only way to make sure Omega never causes trouble again is to kill him. Northstar collapses, ill and dying. Aurora sits alone in the dark, singing to herself, in the room where Lionels creatures have broken out of their jars (see last iss.).

Friends in High Places!
Alpha Flights island is under attack by the Canadian military, but they are driven off. The whole thing had been a war game, monitored by Cody, to test the new Alpha Flight. They passed the test, but Cody nevertheless thinks they are too independent and unstable. Plus, he still thinks of Heather as a hausfrau. When she is not looking, he downloads all of her computer files onto disk, the weasel!

Flashback to the beginning of the team: having searched Canada for heroes and finding only Logan, Mac decided make a hero out of someone with latent powers. He found a criminal, but there is no record of what happened next. Cody searches the old Dept. H, trying to learn if he can create his own race of superheroes. Kara kisses Knapp, and Jeffries Heather, on this, the first anniversary of Macs death. Cody finds a cocoon, from which Bedlam bursts and kills him. Specters!
Wolverine arrives at the mansion, finding that Bedlam has already attacked. He gets Jeffries to tell him the story: the team was training with Beta Flight when the mansion came under attack. Bedlam captured the team except for Jeffries, who buried his own mind to escape. Above the Arctic Circle, Bedlam has established a base, where he has taken Alpha Flight and makes them fight the Derangers, who were survivors from Scramble's lab (see iss. 48). Whichever team survives will become his new super-race. Wolverine and Jeffries bury their minds in animal and machine, respectively, so Bedlam will not notice their approach. But Bedlam lies to Wolverine, telling him that Mac was the one who created him (which is what Heather has believed since iss. 34). This shocks Wolverine out of his berserker rage and allows Bedlam to control him. But Heather blows Bedlam to ashes. Goblyn runs off. The rest decide to take over this base and break all ties with the Canadian government.

Goblyn!
Goblyn sits in the cold, unwilling to join Alpha Flight inside. Alpha Flight starts putting the base back together. Bedlam and the Derangers are dead, we are subjected to yet another series of mini-flashbacks, and Kara convinces the team to go out and look for Goblyn, who sneak-attacks Walter, Heather, and Jeffries. Laura and Goblyn were twin sisters, whose father was anti-mutant and tried to have Goblyn killed in utero. But the autistic Laura hid Goblyn inside herself, until Bedlam freed her. When Kara has just about made friends with the fiend, Alpha Flight arrives and attacks. But Kara intervenes, saving Goblyn's life.

Identity Crisis!
The team convinces Heather to stay in Bedlam's old base. Kara makes nice with Laura and learns that there is an alternate universe, Liveworld, within her. Walter, out in the cold, is driven to create a portal for the great beasts, who offer to conquer the world with him/her. Walter rejects them, and they attack. Heather buries Kariooq under ice, Somon attacks Knapp, Walter crushes Somon's skull, and Goblyn hides Laura and Kara in Liveworld. Jeffries transforms Bedlam's base into a giant robot to fight Tundra, and then decides to destroy some of his own mass to melt Tundra. There is a large (presumably nuclear) explosion.

Have You Ever Heard a Spaceship Scream? Warped!
Jeffries has transformed Box into a spaceship and blasted off in the explosion last iss., with the rest of the team aboard. Both Jeffries and Goblyn have gone mad, Goblyn attacking the ship, and creatures aboard the ship fighting back. Kara and Laura are inside Liveworld, where the Dreamqueen observes them. Knapp is sucked to the Boxship's brain, which has a tumor. He has Goblyn attack it (she does so indiscriminately and damages the brain), and is attacked himself by cancer cells (actually creatures created by Bedlam that are trying to control the ship, which was Bedlam's base, see last iss.). Heather arrives, cages Goblyn, and destroys the Bedlamites and the tumor. Jeffries is cured and heads back to earth.

Life
Boxship has to land on a planet to absorb more mass. Knapp and Goblyn fight, until Jeffries separates them. Heather asks Goblyn to return Laura and Kara, and so she swaps universes with them. In Liveworld, Goblyn is greeted by the Dreamqueen. Boxship bores into the gas-planet's surface, causing the planet to come alive. When it tries to blast off, it is restrained by crystals. Jeffries gives everyone environmental suits, and they battle the crystal that is now growing all around the ship. They soon realize the crystals are alive, and when Kara tries to control their mind, she is overwhelmed with their alienness. Goblyn attacks the crystal to save her, she merges minds with Goblyn to stop that, and Goblyn then understands the crystals, purrs at them, and gets them to stop attacking. Boxship blasts off, but Laura does not return. The Dreamqueen has decided to hold her captive.

Well, You Can Bet Your Bones It's Not on Liveworld
Jeffries doesn't remember the way back to earth, but Walter thinks Box's computer will have stored the data. Kara accidentally merges minds with Goblyn and Jeffries, forcing Boxship to warp to Liveworld, onto which they crash. The Dreamqueen controls this universe, dreaming it up as she goes along. She had allowed Laura and Goblyn to share it to study them and find a way out to the real universe. She attacks Laura with demonized replicas of her parents, and Goblyn runs to her rescue. The Dreamqueen extends her hand in friendship, and Goblyn bites it, which makes her really, really mad.

Inquisition!
Heather and Jeffries speak before Canada's Parliament, which is mad because they had a battle in China (last iss.). Heather gets mad and blasts a desk (live on television), and the MP sitting there calls for the government to neutralize Alpha Flight, or at least control it. The rest go out to a bar, where they also find it hard to live with humans. Walter realizes that as Wanda he can't access his own money. Parliament wants to monitor the team they are funding, but Heather rejects their funding and control, counting on Walter's money. She then proposes to Jeffries, and he accepts. Walter goes to his wife's house and convinces her it is him, but she knows no one else will believe it. She wants Walter to stay dead so she can keep his fortune.

A Real Gone Daddy!
Kara dreams that her father comes to life and wants to attack her. Flashback: Walter explains to Heather that he as Wanda has no access to his fortune. Broke, Alpha Flight breaks up, taking their frustrations out on nosy reporters. Kara, Laura, and Goblyn go to live with Mrs. Killgrave, who receives a telegram that her husband was killed (in the Emperor Doom graphic novel). Kara goes to the grave and tries to resurrect him, to no apparent effect. He shows up, decaying and angry and with dead friends, who attack. Goblyn and Kara fight back, the Purple Corpse accidentally douses himself in gasoline, and Kara makes a spark, burning him up. At an archaeological dig in the Yukon, Elizabeth senses a menace.
