Wolverine is one of the best characters ever created in fiction. I blew it by not coming up with the idea first.

With Great Power... This issue begins with the city of New York pulling the Hobgoblin's battle van out of the Hudson
river while Spider-Man watches from a distance. Not wanting to lose tabs on the vehicle Spider-Man places a spider tracker on the van before it is taken
to the city impound. On the way to the impound however the battle van is hijacked off of the flatbed truck which is hauling it. Peter Parker upon hearing
this news is quick to respond and follow his tracker to the construction yard where it is presumably being stripped. After engaging the cronies who are
doing the stripping, Jack O' Lantern appears and leads Spider-Man away from the van so that the men can get back to work. Not having much choice
Spider-Man leaves the construction yard, chasing Jack O' Lantern, the van however starts up as if by remote control and drives off under its own control.
Meanwhile Jack O' Lantern has lead the chase into a toy store where ultimately Spider-Man allows him to escape only because he must save the people
which Jack O' Lantern had put in harm's way. All this time however, Aunt May was waiting to meet Peter at an uptown restaurant, since Peter let her know
that he had dropped out of college she feels she no longer knows who he is and because he failed to show is now convinced that Peter no longer cares
for her in the least. |

The Fury of X-Factor It is the morning after Flash Thompson, who had been arrested on charges of being the Hobgoblin,
has apparently broken out of jail. His attorney, Ms. Banks, is accosted by various reporters, wanting to ask questions about her client. For this reason,
she also rebuffs the approaches of Robbie Robertson, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bugle. Eventually, however, the tenacious Robertson is able to convince
Ms. Banks to listen to him long enough for him to provide photos which might be able to prove Flash’s innocence. Meanwhile, J. Jonah Jameson has been
inspired by a commercial advertising the services of the mutant hunters known as X-Factor. He summons them to his office, where he hires them to capture
Spider-Man. Though they reply that they are unsure that he is a mutant, they accept the job and go on the hunt in their guises as the renegade mutant team
called the X-Terminators. Meanwhile, Spider-Man is still in recovery from his recent battle with the Rhino, during which he was clobbered by a powerful blow.
Thinking that a little web-swinging through the city will do him good, he leaves Mary Jane, who had been tending to him. However, the swinging does his head
little good, and he finds himself in a dizzy-spell when he is found by X-Factor, still in their mutant costumes. Though a misunderstanding leads to a fight, it
comes to a close when Spider-Man acts on instinct to save Marvel Girl from a fall, unaware that she could have saved herself with her own telekinetic powers.
When he passes out, due to his injuries and the exertion of the fight, he is at the mutants’ mercy, which is what they grant. While Scott, posing as leader of
the mutant hunting X-Factor, returns Jonah’s retainer to him, declaring that they only hunt mutants, which Spider-Man is not, Iceman releases Spidey after
he regains consciousness. Left alone, Spidey continues his search for his friend, Flash Thompson, who is still on the loose and hunted by the authorities. |

Down and Out in Forest Hills Christmas eve at the Bedford Towers and the Parkers, Mary Jane and Peter, are handed an eviction notice
from the head of the law firm representing Jonathon Caesar, the owner of the building. Despite his present incarceration, Jonathon Caesar
still has considerable clout and power, and after having failed to kidnap Mary Jane now strikes out at them from behind bars. As the snow silently falls, we find Howell Thurston III, the
store manager of J.C. Herdling department store griping about scheduling Christmas eve on a Saturday because it would require hiring an
independant security firm to transfer the stores receipts on this their busiest day. As Peter contemplates new lodgings for himself and Mary Jane, he just can't bring himself
to ask any of his friends and he does not want to return to living with Aunt May, who has already offered, because he feels it would be a step backward, finds solace in
visiting the grave of his Uncle Ben. But meanwhile the security firm which was hired by Howell Thurston sends out a van to pick up the stores Christmas profits, but the guards are
currently bound and gagged in the back of the truck. When the truck arrives Howell is suspicious and asks about Don Swaggert, a driver which Howell knows personally, and the
masquerading guards tell him that he is home with his family for the holidays. Clark, an employee with the company for 23 years is in on the heist, and pulls a gun on Howell but is spotted
by a store security guard. Taking a hostage, the robbers are able to avoid a gun fight and attempt an escape with the stores cash. Unfortunate for the thieves they drive past the cemetary
where Peter is. Quickly donning his Spider Man costume, Peter is able to stop the speeding van and incapacitate the guards, who are no real challenge. While returning to the graveyard,
Peter sees Aunt May at the grave site and realizes that it would mean the world to her if he and Mary Jane moved back into his old room. Deciding that part of being independat is making choices
he chooses to mave back home, and makes Aunt May the happiest person on Earth. |
