I think the power of art to penetrate and transform is something we crave, and we know when we’re being served watered-down pap.

The Fall Of The Tower Leprechauns are carrying Nightcrawler when he wakes up. The leprechauns lead Nightcrawler
to Black Tom’s laboratory where the X-Men are captive. Disguised as Xavier, Nightcrawler tricks Juggernaut in to punching a huge hole in the wall. Storm,
relieved to see the sky, creates a huge hurricane, which frees the X-Men. Banshee and Black Tom have a sword fight and Black Tom falls into the water.
Juggernaut jumps in after him. Elsewhere, Eric the Red was watching the fight on a monitor. Shi’ar Emperor D’Ken tells Eric the Red that he must not fail
again, and Eric states that he has found a better ally – Magneto. Hope Storm finds well known writer Phil Halloran about to commit suicide over his writer's block he can’t
get over. Storm takes him flying through the sky, and explains though she can experience and create beauty, the world needs people that can express it in words.
They return to the tower, and suddenly Storm is knocked out by an escaped serial killer, who tells Phil to jump off while he drags the unconscious Storm inside.
Phil knows that when he saves Ororo she will try to stop him from killing himself, but he goes after them anyway. While he fights with the killer Storm comes
around and takes him out with her powers. Yet exhausted and weakened from a severe concussion, she can only beg Phil to not go through with his plan. She
tells him that as long as he lives, there is always hope. Phil goes away to call an ambulance and the police, but he still hasn’t made up his mind, what he will do
afterwards. |

Rogue Storm! While the great storm created by Ororo’s imprisoned subconscious rages, the X-Men, imprisoned in Dr. Doom’s
castle, pass his various tests and escape from their cells, heading for a rematch. After a brief struggle, Doom agrees to release Storm, thinking to use her
distraction to cover his escape. Storm, however, has gathered enough raw power to defeat Doom easily, and in the process has lost touch with her humanity,
casing her to attack the X-Men as well. Colossus uses the memory of Dark Phoenix to bring her to her senses, and she manages, with great effort to dismiss
the tempest she created. Doom agrees to turn over Arcade after he has apologized. Meanwhile, Scott and Lee awake on their Caribbean island to discover a city
has appeared overnight. |

Kitty\'s Fairy Tale
... I have unfortunately not yet had the chance to summarise Marvel's issue #57 of Classic X-Men. While
the cover image and credit information are mostly present, an issue summary has thus far managed to elude me. If you
would like to contribute to the Comic Gnome's comic book resource, this is an example of one of those places where
it could definately come in handy. If you also own or are overly familiar with issue number 57 of Classic X-Men
published in March, 1991 and you feel like putting your ol' book reporting skills to work, please visit the
Contact form and submit an issue summary today. Of course I'll check over what you submit before
I'll post your summary of Classic X-Men issue 57, but assuming it's accurate, you'll have my gratitude and the
knowledge that you helped this humble comic book resource grow. |
