Spectacular Spider-Man

My thoughts on this series as a whole have not entirely been formed yet, at least not so far as I would feel comfortable making them public. But anyway, I highly doubt that you came here to read what it is that I may or may not have thought.

Wings of Fire, Wings of Fear
As we join Spider-Man, we find him securely bound with chains helpless inside a coffin, which is currently headed straight through a secret hole in the wall towards the open maw of roaring furnace. Still groggy from the gas that the Vultures nephew hit him with, Spider-Man is barely able to hold his eyes open let alone think straight or even break the chains which bind him, all while the Vulture gloats over his apparant victory. As the coffin passes through the wall towards the furnace, Vulture turns his attention to celebrating with his new set of cronies, apparantly having taken over a large portion of the mob. Spider-Man while growing ever closer to the furnace manages enough strength to stand sums up the last of his energy for a desperate leap towards the ceiling where he hopes to cling with his spider powers until his head clears. Unfortunately for him, when he does so, the force of the leap knocks the coffin itself sideways where it becomes lodged in the mouth of the furnace. In short time the furnace flames have engulfed the entire chamber and Spider-Man has little choice but to return the way he had come, back into the room of the celebrating goons. He is followed by a wall of fire and smoke however which cuts off the escape of most of Vulture's men whom he promptly leaves to die rescuing only his nephew Malachai. The trapped goons while just moments before were toasting Spider-Man's demise now insist that he save them. Looking for a way to escape the mansion which is now engulfed in flames, Spider-Man pulls each of the mob goons through the ceiling with his webbing, which also serves to bind their hands once they have been pulled to safety, at least until the police arrive. In the streets outside, the vulture and Malachai belive that they have made their escapes when the Harlem mob boss, Alfred Leroy Tooks, tries to take revenge on the Vulture for using him to take out the other mob bossess. Leroy attempts to shoot the Vulture, but Malachai jumps in front of him taking the fatal bullet himself which only serves to ignite the Vulture's rage. Leroy for having shot the Vulture's only relative and confidant now finds himself being brutally attacked within inches of his life, until Spider-Man happens accross the scene, much to the Vulture's surprise. Trying to leave SPider-Man manages to attatch a web line to the Vulture's leg and is flown all throughout Manhattan until their battle lands them inside Grand Central Station. The Vulture ultimately defeats himself when flying at top speed towards the exit leading to the Pan Am building fails to notice the glass barrier which seals off the exit, knocking himself unconscious.
