Jim Shooter As the editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics from 1978 to 87, he believed that every title deserved a chance to succeed. Abandoning the policy that placed the best writers to the best-selling titles allowed some of the second-string titles, such as The Uncanny X-Men or Daredevil, to reach new heights of popularity.
